The Zandra Rhodes Foundation Donates a Selection of Archive To The National Gallery of Victoria

We are honoured to announce the Zandra Rhodes Foundation’s donation of some key pieces of archive such as ‘Spinifix’ and ‘Uluru’ garments to the NGV Melbourne.

These rare and historical pieces were designed in the 1970’s after Zandra’s initial trips to Australia where she found herself inspired by the rugged and beautiful terrain. With a sketchbook in tow, Zandra etched the incredible landscapes and bought all of her findings back to London to start on a collection. In 1973 she showcased the ‘Ayers Rock’ Collection at London Fashion Week (now rightfully renamed the Uluru Collection.)

Thank you to the wonderful NGV Team, Piers Atkinson and the team at Zandra Rhodes Studio for making this donation possible.
